Princess Dental 03.29.11 (03.31.11)

So, Princess has her first dental thank you to the help of IMOM (In Memory of Magic, www.imom.org). She had two teeth on the bottom re-sorbing into her gums that needed to be “crowned” as they were very painful. I was a very nervous/anxious mom the night before and the day of. I got the call that she was waking up and feeling much better. All in all, she had 4 teeth taken out, 2 on the top (which also had lesions) and 2 on the bottom, 2 on each side.

She got home and walked (while shaking her paw with the bandage) straight to her food bowl. She ate her hard kibble with no issues. As soon as she stopped eating long enough, I took her bandage off. At 9pm she was still loopy from anesthesia. She finally settled in for sleep with me around 2am.

She’s doing great! No pain meds needed at all. Eating hard kibble with no issues and taking her antibiotics well. This is the best possible outcome. I was told she’s been eating in pain, so she’s used it it. I just don’t want to see blood in the bowl!
